START research assistants (RAs) develop practical skills in applied research and analysis, and work closely with faculty mentors. Specific projects depend on client requests, but may include landscape analysis or background research on infectious causes of morbidity and mortality, assessments of the state of science and practice in global public health interventions and solutions. RAs work in student-led teams and with faculty mentors to develop the project approach, identify and compile available literature, write literature reviews, conduct analysis, develop and present reports and deliverables.
To apply for a research assistant position for The START Center Global or Domestic Programs applicants must be graduate students currently enrolled at the University of Washington or prospective graduate students already accepted to the University. Currently, undergraduate students are not eligible to apply. Our research assistant application process is highly selective.
