Tanya Karwaki is a Ph.D. Candidate in the School of Law at the University of Washington and a part-time Lecturer in the School of Pharmacy.  She received her J.D. and her LL.M. in health law from the UW, and her M.A. in Zoology from the University of California, Davis.  Her prior experience includes serving as Counsel to the Washington State Senate Health and Long-Term Care Committee, providing clinical risk management services, and serving as Director of the Barer Institute for Law and Global Human Services.  Tanya’s dissertation focuses on the U.S. perspectives on outbound medical tourism.  Her academic interests include:  medical tourism, global health, and pharmacy law.
