START launches 2016-2017 with 4th annual retreat

Last week, START Center welcomed incoming research assistants, including MBA students from our partners from the UW Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship, during our fourth annual START retreat. This year’s retreat was held outside of Leavenworth, Washington.

The retreat mixed engaging team building activities with two days of focused training to ensure research assistants, faculty and staff working with START share a common understanding of expectations and methods used to deliver high quality work. The retreat also allowed START team members time to self-assess individual strengths and limitations, including leadership styles and skills. Furthermore, the retreat was an opportunity for START team members to focus carefully on developing strategies for effective project management and team participation.

The retreat by all accounts was a resounding success and a wonderful way to kick off the 2016-2016 year together.
