START Team Presents Research Findings at CSIS

On April 1, 2016, START Center Research Assistant Jon Muir, along with faculty Dr. Stephen Hawes and Dr. King Holmes, traveled to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) headquarters in Washington, D.C. to deliver a presentation as part of a study launch that culminated a 15 month-long START project. Their presentation highlighted benefits associated with global health partnerships as well as areas for further development and improvement.

This START project represented a continued partnership between CSIS and the University of Washington, and concluded with the publication of Global Health Programs and Partnerships: Evidence of Mutual Benefit and Equity , available on the CSIS website. Throughout the duration of this project, the team was bolstered by the significant contributions of START Research Assistants Allison Osterman and Jessica Farley who played a major role in key informant interviews and drafting and revising the final report.

Jon Muir, Dr. Hawes and Dr. Holmes will travel to the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) Conference on Friday, April 8, 2016, for a plenary session that will discuss evidence of benefits from and areas of improvement for global health partnerships as well as present a 10 component framework for success for new and developing global health programs.
