Jessica Long holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington and an MPH in Epidemiology from Boston University, she was a 2017-2018 Fogarty Fellow. For her fellowship, Jess traveled to Peru to complete her dissertation research investigating the sexual networks of transgender women. Prior to her doctoral studies, Jessica worked as a study coordinator for the Boston University School of Medicine, facilitating a clinical research trial that focused on the incidence of asthma in inner-city children. She also collaborated with faculty at the Boston University Center for Global Health and Development on an independent research project investigating predictors of mortality among patients lost to follow up in an HIV clinic in South Africa. Jessica's interests include infectious disease, epidemic modeling, and implementation science.
Jessica currently works as a Program Officer for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
