Cheryl Dietrich was a Global Surveillance Fellow at ASPPH/PHI until April 2020 at the CDC South Africa. She was a 2017 ASPPH/CDC Public Health Fellow at the Center for Global Health, Division of Global HIV and TB in Pretoria, South Africa. Cheryl completed her MPH in the Epidemiology Department in the Global Health Track at the University of Washington in 2016. She received both her B.A. with Honors in International Studies and Certificate in Core Public Health Concepts from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Prior to joining UW, she worked as a Program Assistant at USAID's Office of HIV and AIDS. At USAID, she provided a variety of support to both Gender and Care and Treatment/Counseling and Testing technical teams, as well as to two country health teams in sub-Saharan Africa. Her global experience also includes a Rotary Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship in St. Louis, Senegal. Cheryl's interests include infectious disease, implementation science, and spatial modeling.
